As a result, the victim was left with a disfigured face, compromised sight and possible lifelong scars. Community of Zebediela was left shocked although they are helping the victim to rebuild her life.
In September 2025 security guards at Vanderbijlpark cemetery, near Vereeniging in the Vaal caught a traditional healer desecrating graves for muti purposes. The traditional healer was caught consuming ashes from the remembrance wall and a human skull in his bag, which he took from Jakobskop cemetery near Roshnee. He has been arrested and expected to apply for bail.
Residents of Ormonde experienced an insurgence of criminal activities, where by some take place during the day. They are currently contributing money to erect a gate to create access control and looking to appoint a security to guard problematic area closer to an unmaintained private land that is hosting perpetrators of the crimes.
