We meet Hennie and Renske. Both are facing seemingly unsurmountable problems. Together, they decide to go on an impromptu road trip. They are joined by fellow travellers, Marshall, a retired vet and Gert, a patient recovering from stroke.

The police suspect that elderly people in the community are being abducted. Melissa, Genesis, and Thomas believe their parents to be missing too. The only person who knows the truth is Linda, the community’s tattletale. Will Linda reveal the truth?

Thomas, Lillian, Melissa, and Genesis form a search party to find their parents. Meanwhile, Gert has begun showing signs of recovery, which pleases Hennie. Pretty Boy joins the travelling caravan. Who or what is he fleeing from?

Tempers rise on the road, the kids and the parents are at odds with themselves and each other. Renske makes peace with her cancer and pushes Hennie to rekindle his love for music. Will they all dance with diamonds on the soles of their feet?

Marshall discovers Renske's secret. Hennie is frustrated and wants to go home. Pretty Boy is in trouble - gangsters of the Cape are in hot pursuit. Renske reprimands Hennie, encouraging him to notice what's been in front of him all along. Is this the end of the road?

As a result of car trouble, tension runs high as Hennie doesn't trust Pretty Boy's motives. Renske takes a tumble and scares everyone. Their children are becoming increasingly frustrated with one another. Will they make it to their parents on time?

Despite Renske's determination and courage to let go and be free, Hennie gets mixed messages. Gert, the silent observer until now, shocks Hennie when he not only speaks but tells the truth.

With a new-found energy, Hennie and Renske and the traveling friends engage their journey together. Renske is deteriorating but puts on a brave face. Hennie is startled by a chance meeting of his son. Will they finally rekindle their relationship?
